Zero harm is a condition of the work, not a target.

Quality, safety and environmental management are built into how every SECCO project is planned, built and handed over.

01 Quality

Built right, verified, then handed over.

Our quality system is directed at continuous improvement, strengthening our competitive position and the standard of the services we deliver.

It is structured around the ISO 9001:2015 quality management framework. Certification is currently being renewed.

Management-system certification status will be updated here as soon as renewal is complete.

  • Planned. Project-specific quality plans, material approvals and method statements agreed before work starts.
  • Inspected. Hold-point inspections by the project engineer before critical activities such as concrete placement.
  • Tested. Strength testing of structures, testing and commissioning of water systems and other works against specification.
  • Reported. Daily site reports, weekly progress reviews and monthly performance reviews, tracked against time, cost, quality and safety indicators.
  • Handed over. Snagging, cleaning and final inspection before formal acceptance, followed by defects-liability support.
02 Health & Safety

Zero harm — for our people and everyone on site.

The health and safety of our workforce and site partners is paramount. Our occupational health and safety system is structured around the ISO 45001:2018 framework, and certification is currently being renewed.

Our principle

If a job cannot be done safely, it will not be done.

Competent people

A designated safety officer coordinates the programme. Every worker is inducted before access and receives ongoing training and toolbox talks.

Planned before work

A written job safety analysis identifies hazards and controls for each new task, with daily site inspections and documented follow-up.

Protected on site

Mandatory PPE, controls for work at height, excavation, confined spaces, electrical energy and plant movement, and site-specific emergency procedures.

When something goes wrong

All incidents and near misses are reported and investigated to find the root cause — not to assign blame — and corrective actions are shared across every SECCO site. Workers can report hazards without fear of reprisal.

Accountability

Safety performance forms part of every supervisor’s evaluation, and serious breaches of safety rules are met with disciplinary action. Our safety record translates into lower risk and liability for clients.

03 Environment

Building without leaving a burden behind.

Responsible construction means protecting the communities and environments in which we build. Every project aims to minimise impact and maximise long-term community benefit.

Our team includes a health, environment and social-impact specialist who aligns project controls with local regulations and World Bank environmental and social standards, supports environmental and social management plans, and advises site teams throughout execution.

Responsible resource use

Materials, water and energy are sourced and used efficiently, and solar power is applied wherever it reduces fuel use and cost.

Waste, dust & noise

Structured waste management, daily site cleanliness, dust suppression, well-maintained plant and controlled working hours.

Water & ecosystems

Borehole, WASH and drainage works are designed and executed to protect water tables and surrounding ecosystems, with pollution and erosion prevented at source.

Environmental performance is reviewed continuously, in step with our quality and safety systems.
